I've been receiving an overwhelming number of questions concerning On1 Photo RAW 2018. So many, that I've found it impossible to answer them on an individual basis so I've decided to create this Frequently Asked Questions post, where I'll do my best to answer questions about the software. I will update this post as new questions arise so check back often. New questions will be posted at the top as I receive them.

Does On1 Photo RAW work with two monitors?
No. Dual display capability is not currently a feature.
Can Geo-locations be added via app like one can do in Lightroom?
No. That is not a feature.
Where are the edits stored?
Since On1 is non-destructive, edits are not written to the RAW file. They're written to the On1 database or, if you have the feature enabled in Preferences, stored in an On1 sidecar file in addition to the On1 database.

Where are the edits stored?

Does On1 backup the database?
Currently On1 does not automatically backup the database nor does it include a feature allowing the user to manually backup the database. I suggest you go to Preferences and enable On1 sidecar files. The sidecar files will be stored next to their respective RAW file allowing you to backup the original RAW files and the sidecar files, containing the edits, together.
Does Lightroom read On1 RAW file edits and vice-versa?
No. Lightroom will not recognize any RAW file edits you do in On1 and vice versa, On1 will not recognize any RAW file edits you previously have done in Lightroom.
Which is better, On1 Photo RAW 2018 or Lightroom?
The answer to that question comes down to personal taste. The Map, Slideshow, Web and Book modules are unique to Lightroom so if you use those modules, you won't find anything in On1 to replace them. Also Lightroom's Print module and soft-proofing are more detailed than On1's. On the other hand, On1 Effects, Layers and Resize are features that aren't found in Lightroom.
These really are two different products with some overlap. They both do an equally fine job with basic picture editing so in my opinion, if that is the only deciding factor, it's a tossup and really comes down to your personal choice. Pixelmator pro 1 3 1 download free.
Are the Windows and Mac versions the same or are they different like Luminar is?
I personally do not own the Windows version but from what I've read and understand, there are no significant differences between the Windows and Mac versions of the software.
Which is faster, On1 or Lightroom?
They seem about the same to me. Of course the answer to this question greatly depends on the hardware being used. I use both On1 and Lightroom on a 27 inch iMac with a 3.2GHz i5 Processor, 32GB of Ram and a 3TB hybrid drive. Can I apply a luminosity mask in On1 Photo RAW 2018?
Yes.
What file types are supported by On1 Photo RAW 2018?
According to On1, Photo RAW 2018 supports virtually every raw format from all major camera manufacturers, and it works with JPG, PSD, PSB, TIFF, and PNG files. Visit On1's website to see the list of supported cameras.
What programs does On1 work as a plugin with?
According to On1's website:
- Adobe Photoshop CS6 & CC
- Adobe Lightroom 5, 6, & CC
- Adobe Photoshop Elements 13, 14 or 15
- Apple® Photos
Do Keywords I add in Lightroom transfer over to On1?
Yes they do. Keywords, Star Ratings and Color Labels are read and transferred by either program. 'Liked' and 'Rejected' photo information is not transferrable between the two programs. Click HERE to look at a chart for more info about what is shared between Lightroom and On1 Photo RAW 2018.
One of my lenses is not found in On1 Photo RAW 2018
If you click through to On1's site HERE, you'll find a listing of lenses which currently have lens correction profiles in On1. On that page, there is a link allowing you to tell On1 about your lens asking them to add a profile for it.
